The Washington Community School District will be working on their social media outreach.

At the school board meeting Wednesday, members voted to approve a 12-month advertising contract with bridgED Communication. The partnership aims to support the district in increasing student enrollment, building a consistent and trusted brand, and enhancing communication across all platforms while reducing the day-to-day burden on school and district leadership.

Superintendent Willie Stone gave more insight into the district’s decision, “ We’re working with a marketing firm that will help us with digital advertising. One of the things that we really struggle with, we have amazing things happening at our schools everyday, But, we’re not marketers and we’re not advertisers, and we’re partnering with somebody that is. That will help us get out all of the good things that we have going on in our buildings.”

The goal is to bring more students in, communicate more effectively, and celebrate all the positive things happening throughout the district. From advertising to public relations, social media to content creation, this partnership is designed to help the district. The cost of this service is estimated to be $35 an hour or up to $1,400 a month, but is on an hourly basis.
