Gas prices dropped on average this week in Iowa and across the country, according to the latest fuel report from AAA and the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.

Regular unleaded gas fell four cents in Iowa to an average of $2.92, 24 cents below the national average of $3.16, which is down a penny from last week.

Diesel prices held steady in the Hawkeye State, averaging $3.56 for the second consecutive week. The national average dropped two cents to $3.72.

Crude oil prices fell this week, with West Texas Intermediate Crude dropping $3.36 to $62.38 per barrel and Brent crude dropping $2.78 to $65.43 per barrel. Both are down around $17 from a year ago.
