Soybeans are a few days behind the five-year average, while corn is tracking one day ahead. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 96% of corn statewide is silking and 68% has reached the dough stage. In southeast Iowa, 96% of corn is silking and 64% has reached the dough stage. In addition, locally 24% of corn is dented.

Soybeans statewide have 75% of the crop setting pods. In southeast Iowa, 93% of soybeans are blooming and 75% are setting pods. 

Statewide corn is currently rated at 29% excellent, 57% good and 11% fair. Soybeans are in similar condition with 21% excellent, 60% good, and 16% fair.
