Charlie Thompson of Washington took home the top honor in model woodworking at the Iowa State Fair. Recently, Thompson presented at the Rotary Club of Washington. His work has also been displayed at the Washington Public Library for the public to view.  

Another individual representing Washington at the Iowa State Fair is Ashley Evans in multiple baking categories. She placed in the layer butter pecan cake, layer yellow cake, and filled cupcakes category.  

Michael Kast of Kalona took top honors in the leather apparel and leather craft categories. 

Andrew Eckroth of Riverside received the blue ribbon for clear glass in the water pitcher, covered bowl or jar, and cake plate categories. He also received the top honor in the china category with his cup and saucer, and toothpick holder.
