A Kalona woman arrested on felony forgery charges has waived her right to a speedy trial.

Veronica Gatlin’s trial had been scheduled for August 12th, but according to court documents, an order was placed to waive her right to a speedy trial.

Gatlin was arrested on May 6th by Johnson County Officials for charges that stemmed from use of a stolen debit card in March.

The total amount charged from the stolen debit card was nearly $3,000 before the account was terminated. Gatlin was charged with unauthorized use of a credit card and forgery, both class D felonies. She was also charged with fourth degree theft, a serious misdemeanor.

A new trial date has yet to be set. KCII will bring you more information once it becomes official.
