Numbers don’t lie. The Hillcrest Academy Raven softball team has reason to celebrate one of the best summers in program history. They rank among the top 10 in Class 1A in six different statistical categories.
As a lineup, Hillcrest drew 131 walks, fourth most in Class 1A.
Individually, Senior Morgyn Nafziger drew 25 walks, third most in the state. Senior Delaney Shaw blasted five homers, eighth most in Iowa and had an OBP of .608 10th best in 1A. Eighth grader Ella Mize ended the year allowing just 12 earned runs, second fewest, to go with her four saves, second most. The Ravens finished the season with a 13-15 overall record.
