The Washington Economic Development Group will be bringing a cottage to a City of Washington lot. The Washington City Council approved the disposal of a lot to the Washington Economic Development Authority at their Tuesday meeting. 

The lot is located at 320 North C Avenue, west of Fareway, and is currently empty.  Previously, the City acquired that property after a nuisance house was demolished, and has tried to sell that lot for development. 

The agreement was to deed the house to WEDG for $1, and WEDG will be moving an affordable home onto the lot from Pleasantview in Kalona. The agreement states that WEDG will have 180 days to move a home onto the lot, and within 270 days the home should be listed for sale or sold. 

The Council approved the agreement unanimously.
