The Kalona Optimists group helped grow the game of golf with a junior camp in July at the Kalona Golf Course. Nearly 70 campers between the ages of seven and 15 attended. Monday through Wednesday, volunteer coaches, including the staff at Mid-Prairie and Hillcrest Academy worked with the youth players in small groups, covering short game and putting to full swing fundamentals. On Thursday, players all participated in a tournament. Top three in each age division for tournament play included:

Girls 7 – 8 years old
