The Iowa Governor’s Charity Steer Show will have a Washington student participating this Saturday. Tyler Lukavsky was selected as one of 25 people across the state to take part in the show at the Iowa State Fair on August 9th.

Tyler is the son of Jill and the late Mark Lukavsky. He will be going into 10th grade at Washington High School in the fall. He has been showing cattle for six years and is involved in FFA, 4-H, and track. He and his steer, Thunder, are sponsored by the Eastern Iowa Ronald McDonald House and Quad Cities McDonald’s.

The steer show raises funds for the Ronald McDonald House. Last year, $568,000 was raised for Ronald McDonald House. And since its inception in 1983 over $6 million has been raised. All of the funds are distributed to the Ronald McDonald Houses of Iowa in Iowa City, Des Moines, and Sioux City.
