
A Cedar Rapids man was arrested on a felony domestic abuse charge in rural Washington along G36 on Sunday.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, at around 1 a.m. on Sunday, law enforcement responded to a call of a vehicle on the side of the road with its hazards on and clothing scattered outside of it. The vehicle was at the corner of Riverside Road and 220th Street, also known as G36, north of Washington. A second call reported a man and a woman arguing near the vehicle.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene and arrested 32-year-old Delvin Antonio Jackson Jr. of Cedar Rapids. He was charged with domestic abuse assault third offense, a Class D felony. Jackson was taken to the Washington County Jail and bonded out.
The victim was taken home by a friend.
Jackson’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 13.
