The Washington County Board of Supervisors will discuss the possible action regarding the National Opioid Settlement with Purdue Pharma. In June, Attorney General Brenna Bird announced that Iowa agreed to sign on to a $7.4 billion settlement with Purdue Pharma and its owners, the Sackler family. The settlement resolved litigation against Purdue and the Sacklers for their role in creating and worsening the opioid crisis across the country. Opioid settlement funds are typically used for rehabilitation programs by the counties.
The supervisors will also discuss a resolution regarding the Iowa State Association of Counties (ISAC) designation of voting representatives.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. and is held in Orchard Hill Building 3 at 2175 Lexington Boulevard.
