The seventh biggest story in Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk athletics from last year shines a spot light on the Golden Hawk Dance Team.

The Golden Hawk dancers continued their tradition of strong performances at State by bringing home more hardware from Des Moines last winter.

The Hawks finished as State Runners-up in both Class V Hip Hop and Class IV Jazz. Mid-Prairie was sixth in Class VIII Pom and Class II Mix. All Mid-Prairie group performances received Division I ratings, the highest score possible. The Golden Hawks were also honored by the state with an academic achievement award.

Individually, the Hawks placed three dancers in the top seven of the solo contest with juniors Drea McCain fifth and Meadow Flynn sixth and sophomore Lily Hendricks seventh. McCain, Hendricks and Ariel Kaufman were awarded spots on the All Iowa Honor Dance Team.

Members of this year’s Mid-Prairie Dance Team were: Emma Hendricks, Meadow Flynn, Drea McCain, Ariel Kaufman, Paige Malichky, Ireland McCain, Fiona Brady, Maelys Beachy, Lily Hendricks, Jocelyn Bobbitt, Adalyn Kron, and Peyton Malichky.
