
A Fairfield man was sentenced to four years of probation for the theft of prescription pills.
Between June 2022 and November 2023, 43-year-old Bryan Paul Vander Linden stole thousands of pills from Summit Pharmacy of Iowa. He owned and operated the pharmacy from which he took over 3,500 oxycodone and hydrocodone pills and over 400 carisoprodol pills.
Vander Linden was also ordered to pay a $9,500 fine. He pled guilty in April. His sentencing hearing was on July 28. According to a statement from Vander Linden’s lawyer to the Southeast Iowa Union, he will be able to return to work at Summit Pharmacy under supervision of the Iowa Monitoring Program for Pharmacy Professionals.
