Louisa County saw flash flooding over the weekend, the second round of floods in just over a week’s time.
At around 4 p.m. on Friday, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for northwestern Louisa County and southwestern Muscatine County in response to heavy rainfall from thunderstorms in the area. The flooding caused R Avenue from County Road X37 to Collins Road in Columbus Junction to close temporarily at around 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
Less than a week prior, flooding caused a water main break in Columbus Junction. That main has since been replaced, and crews are waiting on testing results to lift a no cooking/no drinking order that has been in place since Wednesday for Toddtown residents.
