Four local seniors were awarded with Washington County 4-H Scholarships at this year’s 4-H awards ceremony at the Washington County Fair.
Grace Puttmann, Morgyn Nafziger, Peighton Ford, and Jade Sheetz were the recipients this year.
Jodi Ebert with the Washington County 4-H program announced the awards, and shared more about the scholarship, “We are excited to do the fifth annual presentation of 4-H Scholarships that we hope, and plan, and intend to do every year if finances allow. These scholarships are provided through the big lucky clover raffle, and many of you may have been a ticket buyer or a seller, or won one of the prizes, and we are so appreciative of all of the fundraising efforts so that we can do scholarships and all sorts of amazing things.”
The scholarships are in the amount of $500, and are offered to currently enrolled Washington County 4-H youth who have been active members at least four years in the Washington County 4-H program. The committee looks to recognize youth who have made a positive impact on the world around them through their 4-H experience and to those youth who have grown their skills and character through 4-H participation.
