According to a release, Columbus Junction Public Works has put in a temporary water line for residents in Toddtown, north of the train tracks as they work to repair a water main break.
The Iowa DNR has advised that this will be non-drinking or cooking water. Residents will still need to use bottled water to drink and cook with. This water will be fine for toilets, showering, and washing laundry. There will be a lot of air in the line to bleed out so residents are asked to turn cold water on and let it run. The Columbus Junction Fire Department and Columbus Junction Police Department members are distributing cases of bottled water to the residents that don’t have water.
Residents are asked to not drive over the temporary water line. The intersections of 2nd St/Highway 70, G36/Highview Dr a North Main Street will be closed while this temporary line is in place.
