The Louisa County Fairgrounds in Columbus Junction faced heavy rainfall and flooding early Sunday morning.
The fair began on Saturday with conference judging of 4-H static exhibits and Clover Kid talks and interviews. Overnight into Sunday, they received 3.62 inches of rain.
Activities for Sunday were moved to the Columbus Community High School gym. As of Sunday evening, the water was beginning to go down on the fairgrounds. The fairgrounds are currently closed until further notice. When the grounds open, trailers with livestock may come in and unload, but not stay on the grounds. KCII will be broadcasting live from the Louisa County Fair as part of the Big Red Radio Summer Town Tour.
