The Gingko Avenue bridge replacement in Wellman has been completed, according to the city.

The bridge was closed in January of this year, causing a detour for the past six months.

The project was initially approved in 2022. The bridge was built in conjunction with the Washington County Engineer’s Office, and the project’s total cost was $904,986. The $600,000 of engineering costs are being paid via a loan by the city, while the remaining construction costs are covered by state and federal grants.

The bridge has no weight restrictions and is now open to the public.
