The National Strip-Till Conference is coming to the area, and ahead of the event Washington County will play host to a Strip-Till Field Day. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is hosting the educational event at the ISU Southeast Research and Demonstration Farm near Crawfordsville. Field Agronomist Rebecca Vittetoe shares what people can expect, “Strip till is a type of tillage, it’s kind of transitioning from more of a full tillage, you’re maybe not quite ready to make that jump to no till, it kind of be that intermediate step in between there. So we’ll be [demonstrating] different strip till bars at the field day. So, we’ve got 12 strip till bars lined up and there will also be static displays for people to learn more.”
The event offers a morning session and an afternoon session on July 30th. Registration information can be found here.
