It’s Washington County Fair week. Along with the contests, ribbons and fun at the fair, it’s a chance to enjoy great food. The Mid-Prairie Athletic Boosters are continuing their annual tradition of operating a concession stand. Just behind the main grandstand you’ll find your favorites including rib on a stick, ribeye sandwiches, pork burgers, brats, hot dogs, nachos and Kalona bars, all served by Golden Hawk student athletes and coaches. This year, Mid-Prairie is honoring Dave Tornow, an important booster and member of the community who passed away unexpectedly last winter, by using signage that he crafted to display at the school to recognize student athlete’s accomplishments. The concession stand will be open all week and proceeds support future Mid-Prairie activities and improvements.
