While all of Washington County remains abnormally dry, portions of the KCII listening area have been upgraded to drought-free by the U.S. Drought Monitor for the first time since June 5.

19.36% of Keokuk County and 56.99% of Iowa County are now drought free. Washington, Johnson, Louisa, Henry and Jefferson Counties all remain entirely abnormally dry.

Statewide, numbers have continued to improve, with 63.41% of Iowa now drought free and only 3.61% of the state in a moderate drought.

Due to the time between data collection and publication, data only includes rainfall through Tuesday, July 8.
