
Former Washington Mayor Jaron Rosien was sentenced in court Friday morning.
As part of the sentencing, Rosien will be a registered sex offender and receive sex offender treatment, as well as serve 50 hours of community service. He will also serve two years of probation.
Rosien plead guilty to assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, an aggravated misdemeanor, and a sentencing hearing was held on Friday.
According to court documents, the parties requested a contested sentencing hearing where Rosien requested a deferred judgment.
Rosien was originally charged with sexual abuse in the third degree, a Class D felony. The charges stem from an incident that allegedly occurred in January of 2023 in Washington.
