At their Tuesday meeting, the Washington County Board of Supervisors reappointed  Veterans Affairs Commissioner, Darin Beezley for a term that will end on June 30th, 2028. Beezley held the position for the previous term, and was the only applicant for the role.

Also during the meeting, the Supervisors heard the Veterans Affairs quarterly report. The report was presented by Veterans Affairs Director Carrie Rich, “So for the fourth quarter, we had a total of 10 applications from County veterans requesting assistance, all 10 were granted. Two were for rent, three were for utilities, four were for food provisions, and one was to cover the cost of a funeral. That funeral one had been pending the last couple of quarters, we had been waiting for the application to go through federally as well before the county stepped in.”

The Washington County Commission of Veterans Affairs provides assistance to Washington County Veterans and eligible family members. They also provide assistance to Veterans and their family members in applying for federal benefits and other veterans aid.
