A special cat adoption event is happening in Washington this week. PAWS & More animal shelter is teaming up with First Resources Corp./CHOICES. The goal is to help adult cats find their homes and to collect items for CHOICES. PAWS & More Director Amber Talbot shares both organizations are involved in helping the community.

The $25 cat adoption event runs July 11, 12, and 13 from noon to 4 p.m. People are asked to bring an item to donate to CHOICES, things like hygiene products, clothes, and small household items.

CHOICES provides daily car supplies, meals, and supports to individuals in the community in need. First Resources is a private non-profit agency that provides services across southeast Iowa including mental health services, substance abuse treatment and recovery services, and resources for people with disabilities.
