An eagle was rescued in Washington County Sunday.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of an injured eagle with possibly a broken wing on the south side of the English river bridge near Riverside on Vine Avenue.
A deputy responded and transported the injured eagle to the Raptor Center of the Iowa Raptor Project in Solon.
The Iowa Raptor Project mission is to connect students and the community to the conservation of birds of prey and their natural habitats through research and education opportunities. The Iowa Raptor Project is a jointly sponsored program of the University of Iowa College of Education and Kirkwood Community College.
