The boil orders for Columbus Junction and Columbus City have been lifted.
Columbus City officials announced at around 3 p.m. on Thursday afternoon that water had come back from testing safe for consumption.
According to Columbus Junction Public Works, at about 2 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, water samples were returned and declared safe for consumption.
At around midnight Monday, the department announced that water had been turned off because the city’s pumps were unable to keep up following a main break. The issue has since been repaired and water has been turned back on, but the department requested residents conserve water to rebuild supplies in the city’s water tower. The depressurization required bacteria testing on the water supply, which triggered the initial boil order.
