Highway 78 south of Winfield will be closed beginning on Monday, May 7.

The closure will be approximately a mile and a half south of Winfield. Crews will be replacing an existing bridge with a twin box concrete culvert.

The project is expected to be completed in mid-October, weather permitting, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

The recommended detour is 170th Street to Highway 218, rejoining Highway 78 at the intersection just north of Swedesburg.
