
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball team will squeeze in one more game before the holiday weekend when they host the Eddyville-Blakesburg Rockets Thursday at Carr, Vincent, Gould Field in Kalona. The Golden Hawks are 6-19 on the season and trying to snap a 10-game-skid after a 5-3 loss at Washington Wednesday. Mid-Prairie hits .262 as a group with a .360OBP and .344 slug, scoring 118 runs, 158 hits, 99RBI, 77 walks and 115 strikeouts. Sophie Miller leads with a .444 average, 32 total hits and 20 runs scored. Kadence Grout has a team best 19RBI. Grout and Alena Snider have worked 160 innings with a .321opponent average, 202 hits, 146 earned runs 59 walks, 50 strikeouts, an 8.10ERA and WHIP at two.
Eddyville-Blakesburg is 10-19 this year, 4-9 in the South Central Conference. They fell at Oskaloosa 9-7 Wednesday.
