An SUV flipped and landed in the ditch in rural Washington on Monday resulting in two people injured. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, at 5:12 p.m. emergency officials were notified of a single-vehicle wreck near the intersection of Nutmeg Avenue and 200th Street. 

The juvenile driver told authorities that a deer ran in front of the vehicle and they swerved to miss it. The vehicle then went into the ditch and came to rest on its top. The driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.

The driver and a juvenile passenger were transported by ambulance to the Washington County Hospital. 

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene.

Washington County Ambulance and the Washington Fire Department and EMS assisted at the scene.
