The hiring of a new Emergency Management Coordinator may be close for Washington County. 

The Emergency Management Commission is set to meet on Wednesday, and an agenda item is the hiring decision for the new coordinator. Washington County Sheriff Jared Schneider has been filling the role as an interim during the interviewing and hiring process. The position has been open since the end of March.

Also on the agenda is the hazardous mitigation plan update and review of quotes for the plan, as well as a county-wide siren system update. 

The meeting is set to begin at 6 p.m. in the Washington County Emergency Operations Center.
