A flood warning is in effect for the Iowa River at Marengo with minor flooding in the forecast. The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities states the water is expected to crest at 15.5 feet on Wednesday morning. On Monday morning, water was at 14.7 feet. At 15 feet, water reaches the bottom of the levee surrounding Marengo and affects low-lying agricultural land along the river.

The flood warning is in effect through late Thursday morning. The NWS states the water is forecast to fall below flood stage on Thursday.

Drivers are reminded that if you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an alternate route. Turn around, don’t drown.
