The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has released a warning recommending against swimming at Lake Darling. The warning is due to high levels of E. Coli bacteria in recent water samples.

The most recent sample was collected on Wednesday, June 25, and showed over a ten-times increase in E. Coli present from the previous week. Lake Darling is one of 10 beaches across the state where swimming is not recommended. Testing will continue through Labor Day.

Other beach activities remain open.
