The Keota Community School District has named a new high school principal.

Heather Rosewall, who is currently a science educator and coach at Rock Valley Community School Districts, was approved by the Keota School Board at a special meeting on Thursday. She recently completed her Education Specialist degree from the University of Sioux Falls.

New shared superintendent Dave Harper described what he saw in Rosewall, “Her energy really made her stand out in the interview process. We’re excited about her.”

The hiring is the latest in a series of administrative changes at Keota following the resignation/settlement of former superintendent and principal Lisa Brenneman last month. The superintendent vacancy was filled via the approval of the shared superintendent agreement with Pekin Community School District earlier this month.

Rosewall will begin her tenure as Keota High School Principal on August 1.
