
Flood watches are in effect for the Cedar River and the Iowa River at multiple locations in the state. Flooding is possible due to recent rounds of thunderstorms and resulting excessive rainfall.
The flood watch is in effect at the Cedar River near Conesville affecting both Muscatine and Louisa counties from Tuesday night until further notice. Flood stage there is 13 feet, and as of Friday the stage was 12.6 feet and flood stage may be reached Wednesday.
In addition, a flood watch is in effect for the Iowa River at Marengo affecting Iowa and Benton counties from Saturday evening until further notice. Friday the water was at 13.6 feet and rising. Flood stage at Marengo is 15 feet.
