The Jefferson County Fair is underway in Fairfield and will continue through the end of the week.

The fair kicked off on Monday with pet shows and the fair parade. On Tuesday, the tractor and horse shows took place while the rest of the livestock checked in.

The festivities kicked into full gear on Wednesday, as sheep, goats, swine and cattle were weighed in, exhibits were judged, performances including wolf shows and comedy shows began, the FFA senior ceremony was held, the carnival rides were opened, and the queen and little miss contests capped off the night.

On Thursday, the fair hosted its goat, sheep and dairy cattle shows. The poultry and swine shows are on Friday. The rabbit show will be on Saturday.

The entertainment such as the wolf and comedy shows will continue through Sunday. The carnival rides will continue through Saturday. The fair will conclude with a fireworks show Sunday night and the premium auction on Monday.
