
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for a welfare check in Brighton on Monday, which ended in an arrest.
Around 2 p.m. Monday afternoon, officials responded to a residence in Brighton after receiving a call that a subject there was sending threatening text messages. They arrested 32-year-old Kyle Sobaski for a felon in possession of a firearm, a Class D felony.
According to court documents, the messages were stating that Sobaski had a firearm. When the deputies arrived, they questioned Sobaski, and he stated that he did have a firearm, which was located with ammunition in the residence.
Sobaski was taken to the Washington County Jail. A preliminary hearing has been set for July 3rd.
