Welcome To Riverside

The City of Riverside is kicking off its comprehensive planning process with a visioning event at Trekfest this Saturday morning.

The event will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. alongside the Holy Family Parish/Riverside VFW Breakfast. The public will be able to talk to city officials on-site and provide input toward the plan.

The comprehensive plan provides directions to city officials when making decisions, directing groups like the board of adjustment and the planning and zoning committee on where they should steer city policy and rulings.

Riverside is partnering with the East Central Iowa Council of Governments to create the plan, the process for which will take approximately 12 months to complete. The plan will establish visions, goals and objectives for the next 10 years.

Riverside’s current comprehensive plan was established in 2013.
