The KCII Big Red Radio will “Boldly Go” to Trekfest 40 to bring you all of the action. The annual Riverside event will be held this weekend, June 26-28.

Fans of the sci-fi franchise can participate in autograph signings with guest stars Connor Trinneer, Dominic Keating, Wyatt Weed, Bobby Clark and Lolita Fatjo. A writers’ workshop with Fatjo, who was an executive producer on Star Trek: The Next Generation, will be held on Friday at 2:30 p.m.. On Saturday at 3:30 p.m., Trekkies can join a costume contest, attend a question and answer session with Trinneer and Keating, who played Charles “Trip” Tucker and Malcolm Reed, respectively, in StarTrek Enterprise.

The event will begin with a warmup Thursday night, where a beer tasting event will take place. The warmup will be in Hall Park, where there will also be live entertainment and a kid zone.

Friday’s schedule includes a scavenger hunt, a youth baseball tournament, kid zone, beer tent, pet show, live music and stargazing.

On Saturday, a fun run, a parade, a breakfast fundraiser, a costume contest, a kids tractor pull, a kids’ foam party, live music and fireworks will fill the city.

KCII will be on-site with the Big Red Radio from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday with live coverage of the event as part of the Summer Town Tour.
