A busy portion of the schedule continues for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball team when they travel to Grinnell tonight for a non-conference contest with the Tigers. The Hawks are 6-10 on the year after a 9-4 loss in Kalona to No. 3 in Class 2A Durant on Monday. This year, the Hawks hit .300 as a team with a .401OBP and .392 slug on 85 total hits, 74 runs, 63RBI, 42 walks and 49 strikeouts. Individually three Hawks are .400 or better, led by Kadence Grout at .457 with 16 total hits and 14 driven in. Claire Trimpe has scored 13 runs. In the circle, the group of Grout, Alena Snider and Naomi Wadsworth have a 7.31ERA, 2.27WHIP, .316 team average, 91 hits, 63 earned runs, 46 walks and 28 strikeouts.

Grinnell is 19-3 on the year and 11-3 in the WAMAC-West following a 9-1 win over Marshalltown. The Tigers are ranked No. 11 in Class 4A in the latest poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. Grinnell hits .381 as a team with a .435OBP and .511 slug with 152 runs, 170 hits, 125RBI, 47 walks and 33 strikeouts. Kylee Bond is best with a .482 average, 27 total hits and 21 RBI. Taylor Smith has scored 24 times. In the circle, Grinnell has a staff ERA of 1.92 with a 1.29WHIP and .233 opponent average on 93 hits, 28 earned runs, 39 walks and 94 strikeouts.
