Agricultural producers in Iowa are reminded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to complete crop acreage reports once planting is complete. Farmers should make an appointment with their local Farm Service Agency’s county office to complete the reports before the deadline of July 15th for all crops including perennial forages. There is a December 16th deadline for any fall-seeded small grains.

The reports will need information from the farmer including crop type or variety, number of crop acres, a map with approximate boundaries, planting dates, irrigation practices, and more.

By using the farmers.gov customer portal, farmers can access their FSA farm records, maps, and common land units.
