
Nearly all of southeast Iowa’s corn and soybeans have emerged. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Statistical Services’ weekly crop progress report, 98% of corn in the southeast region has emerged, along with 94% of soybeans. Statewide the corn progress is on track with the five-year average and soybeans are two days ahead of normal.
The overall condition of corn is rated at 21-percent excellent, 63-percent good, and 14-percent fair. Soybeans are rated at 18-percent excellent, 62-percent good, and 17-percent fair.
At this time, pasture and range in the Hawkeye State is rated at 17-percent excellent, 52-percent good, and 25-percent fair.
