The Washington City Council approved a 3% pay raise for all City staff and appointed officers at their Tuesday meeting. 

A one-year agreement with the Teamsters Local Union for the Maintenance and Construction Department was also approved. There will be changes to the handbook made at future meetings regarding the contract, mostly involving time off. 

The council voted unanimously to approve the raises. The 3% increase was already figured into the fiscal year budget for the City.
