The Lone Tree Lions earned another conference softball victory last night by beating Pekin 10-1. Lone Tree wasted no time going in front with four runs in each of the first two innings, and they would end the game after five frames.
Senior Alex Dautremont had a team-high three hits for the Lions, while eighth-grader Adi Parizek cracked a triple as part of two hits and a game-high five runs batted in.
Like Parizek, senior Vivian Zaruba had two hits and scored two runs, while senior Sam Branson scored once to go with a base hit. Senior Kayleigh Rundlett added a double and one RBI and senior Rylee Shield scored twice from the lead-off spot for Lone Tree.
Dautremont was the winning pitcher by allowing just one hit and collecting four strikeouts in four innings of work for the Lions, whose eighth victory in the last 11 games raises their record to 9-6 overall and 4-5 in the North division of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference. Lone Tree is in action again tonight against Wapello.
