The Lone Tree Lion softball team scored a 3-2 win over Danville last night. After facing a 2-0 deficit one inning in, Lone Tree chipped away with single runs in the second and third frames before scoring once in the fifth to take the lead for good.
Despite a slow start, senior pitcher Alex Dautremont was brilliant for the Lions, allowing just three hits and one walk in a complete-game victory and also collecting four strikeouts.
Catcher Kayleigh Rundlett clubbed a home run for the Lone Tree lineup, while fellow senior Rylee Shield also had one hit and one run batted in. Senior Cate Sexton scored two runs and came up with a base hit as the Lions improve to 8-6 with the victory and now prepare for their next game Thursday against Pekin.
