A vote on restructuring the Keokuk County Emergency Management Agency Commission and its responsibilities is scheduled for June 18.
Currently, the EMA commission is merged with Keokuk County Public Health. Under the proposal, those entities would separate. The commission would then merge with the currently independent Keokuk County 911 Service Board. The EMA commission says that it intends to continue to cooperate with the public health board moving forward.
As part of the change, the Emergency Management Office would be relocated to the third floor of the Keokuk County Courthouse in the previous County Attorney’s Office. The Emergency Operations Center would remain in its current location.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the Keokuk County Emergency Operations Center at 1303 200th Avenue.
