
A dry week in southeastern Iowa has left the entire KCII listening area in abnormally dry conditions, according to the latest data from the U.S. Drought Monitor.
Conditions are unchanged for Washington, Henry, Jefferson, Louisa and Keokuk counties from last week. Johnson and Iowa counties have moved from the northern half of each county being drought-free a week ago, with Johnson County jumping to 100% abnormally dry from 47.98% and Iowa County doing the same from 48.29%.
The nearest moderate drought conditions to the KCII listening area lie in western Wapello and southern Mahaska counties.
Currently, 12.48% of Iowa is in a moderate drought, 67.03% is abnormally dry, and 20.49% is drought free.
