Celebrate Washington’s Cultural and Entertainment District this weekend with Ignite the Arts.  

Participants can take part in multiple events and observe artists throughout the weekend in Washington, including nocturnal painting on Friday and Saturday night, a story walk around the square, and other events. 

Washington Mayor Millie Youngquist talks about the importance of art in the community, “The arts are important, they draw people together. To create and be free to express themselves in a positive way. Really, Washington has a lot of businesses and organizations that work together to create art for our citizens.” 

Art Domestique will be hosting the En Plein Air painting competition, where artists from around Iowa will be painting different scenes outside as part of a juried contest.
