Both the Columbus Wildcats and WACO Warriors suffered defeat on the softball diamond last night. Columbus fell to Louisa-Muscatine 10-0, as the second-ranked team in the state in Class 2A held the Wildcats to just three total baserunners as a team.

Sophomore Ellie Sanders had three hits in the lead-off spot for Columbus, but the ‘Cats nonetheless drop to 5-1 in the North division of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference and 6-4 overall.

WACO would also lose by a 10-0 final at Super Conference North rival Wapello. The Warriors are still looking for their first win of the season as they prepare to next play later tonight at Danville. Meanwhile, Columbus faces another conference foe in Pekin this evening and also has games at West Branch tomorrow.
