The Washington County Supervisors approved forming a County Building Committee at their Tuesday meeting.
Supervisor Richard Young gave more information about the committee, and why it is needed, “We’ve had some discussion about needing a County Building Committee, to have department heads form a committee so that when, I’ll just use a water heater as an example. Water heater goes out in the Sheriff’s Office, buildings and grounds would take care of that, and then, repairs like that would be under buildings and grounds, as far as budget issues, and things like that. We’ve had this discussion, and then we would also be looking at making a five-year plan on buildings.”
The Supervisors approved the formation of a County Building Committee, comprised of Department heads and county staff. They also approved the formation of a security subcommittee for county buildings.
