Mid-Prairie is looking for a new elementary school principal and has a July 1 deadline to decide on an insurance policy. The Mid-Prairie School Board will meet Monday as the board makes final preparations for the end of the fiscal year on June 30.
A topic of discussion is expected to be the hiring of a new principal for Mid-Prairie West Elementary following the resignation of Greg Jennings last month. Interviews for the position took place last week. A hiring recommendation will go before the board on Monday.
Discussion of the school’s insurance policy is also expected, with the looming July 1 deadline to make a decision concerning joining an insurance pool. Business manager Jeff Swartzentruber has discussed the idea, which would have Mid-Prairie join other districts across the state for property insurance to help mitigate risk, at several previous meetings.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. in the Mid-Prairie Central Office Community Room.
